The Art Hotel Commercianti in Piazza Maggiore of Bologna has always been particularly sensitive to art; in fact, it is a place that celebrates art in all its forms. Over the years, thanks to collaboration with numerous artists, our facility has been able to offer our guests a true artistic experience, and artists have been given the opportunity to exhibit their works within the hotel. Our facility, in addition to having a permanent collection of artworks, organizes the display of paintings or sculptures in the lobby and common rooms; this allows the kind guests to have an always new experience, because every six months the Art hotel Commercianti has chosen to change the temporary exhibition to offer guests an always new and exciting experience. Changing the artwork on display allows for a dynamic and ever-changing environment, offering visitors the opportunity to discover a new artistic landscape with each visit. This also allows artists to display their works to a wider audience and provide space for new creative expressions. In addition, the regular change of the temporary exhibition allows the hotel to maintain a dynamic purpose and adapt to changing tastes and trends in the art world. This approach stimulates visitors' curiosity and invites them to return to find out what will be new. Among the artists who exhibited their works inside the hotel it is important to mention:
Ivan Dimitrov, described as an eclectic, introverted, unpredictable character, and his figurative language manages to interact with the public without intermediaries. The artist expresses himself through multiple artistic techniques, sometimes in unexpected and striking combinations. With his fascinating terracotta bas-reliefs dedicated to Bologna, he merges culture and painting into a single work and expresses the city's charm and fascination. Each subject is made in a limited number of copies, each numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and guarantee. His works offer a unique look at Bologna and create an evocative atmosphere inside the hotel.
Giancarlo Bonomi is another artist who has collaborated with the hotel, and his works are distinctive photographic portraits inspired by Caravaggio's paintings. With his artistic vision, Bonomi has created a connection between photography and painting, offering a contemporary look at Caravaggio's masterpieces.
Eugenio Lenzi, on the other hand, is known for his sculptures, including a replica of the Neptune statue. The statue is displayed in the hotel lobby and adds a unique and majestic touch to the environment. In addition, the collaboration with the international art collective Cracking art founded in 1993 by six Italian artists: Renzo Nucara, Carlo Rizzetti, Marco Veronese, Kicco, Alex Angi and William Sweetlove. Their goal is to promote contemporary art and raise awareness of ecology and sustainability issues. Cracking art is based on the use of reclaimed plastic, which is molded and transformed into animal sculptures. The bright and eye-catching colors of the works draw the public's attention and convey an optimistic and playful message, despite the use of recycled materials. Animal sculptures made by Cracking Art can be encountered in different parts of the world, both in public spaces and in temporary exhibitions.
